My Ride: June 2007 LCI 530d M SPORT, Carbon black, black dakota leather, Media pack, Visibility pack, elec mem heated seats, lumber support, high beam assistant, 172M Spider wheels, M-tech spoiler, piano black trim. Sun protection glass.
Hi guys
forgive me if this has been already discussed, i have a June 2007 LCI 530d M sport auto, purchased from Main dealer, 1 owner car with 39k on the clock. The car is superb BUT sometimes i have noticed the gear change is pretty harsh. Normally it drives perfect but all of a sudden the gear change from 2-3 is a stuggle, like i have to put my foot down for it to 'slam' into gear. Then after a little while it's ok again. It's a intermittent problem and difficult to pinpoint.
For example i could be driving along for a few hours, gear change smooth, then all of a sudden it starts to misbehave - change up and down pretty rough.
As the car is still under warranty, BMW have looked at it twice and found no issues - just got it back today and so far seems ok but will keep an eye on it - BMW said the transmission oil level was 'slighty' low so they topped it up and also reset the main computer.
Has anyone come across this before...?
thanks.

loads of people haqve complained about odd behaviour in auto gearboxes gear changes. It's described variously as thumping, banging etc but I think all are describing the same thing. I don't believe there's a resolution to it but some say that the gearbox reset procedure helps

Thanks, my previous 2005 530i sport Petrol used to jerk a little when coming to a stop - in the end i got rid of anyway as i needed to change the car. Well it's the 3rd day today since it's been back from the dealer, so far so good. Maybe the LCI models have more electronics as the gear change transmission selector is electronic (joystick type)
Thanks
Thanks

Sluis530 - mine is AUTO
to be honest it has been fine since i had it back from BMW, but not convinced what they did cured it....i'm sure someone else would have experienced this.
