Hi All
Recently I have noticed that my lovely pride and joy is drinking too much, I understand I have been doing quite a lot of local miles mostly school runs 30-40 miles road however I have noticed on full tank I am getting just below 300 miles per tank however I use to get nearly 400 miles before and nearly 600 motorway miles and now I am getting less than 500 motorway miles.
I have also noticed engine a lot more noisy when cold but once warmed up it is back to normal, plus occasionally can smell a bit of diesel as well.
History of the car is:
Milliage: 140K
DPF replaced by main dealer at: 125K
Full service history
Swirl flaps removed at 120K
I have done a 60 miles motorway trip last night and checked a running temperature from hidden menu and it was 88 though it took me 5 minutes to get into the menu after switching the engine off as I was following YouTube video so I assume it was running at 90+ which seems normal.
Any suggestion what shell I do and what can be a starting point to get it checked?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Salman
