I had a few runs last night with a Chrysler 300c, now I know I don't have the biggest engine in the world..but I was amazed how it kept up with a 300c from a 70mph rolling start. Even more impressed on how my small engine overtook the 300c at high speeds.
This was all initiated by the 300c, as I was cruising along the 57 south in the Puente Hills area (CA) at around 2am. I had 1 passenger in the car and he had none.
The first run consisted of me slowly increasing speeds to create a buffer between us, I really hate it when vehicles drive right next to me in a completely empty freeway. He matched my speed to 110mph..I quickly realized he was willing to match my every move.
I dropped down to 70mph and he followed. At which point he floored it and took a 2-3 cl lead, I began gaining on him at around 120mph and caught up to him at 130mph. After that I let my E60 hit 140mph and by then I was well ahead of him..creating a huge gap between us.
Again my 2.5l really impressed me last night
At low speeds its a bit sluggish but at high speeds its impressive

HmMm See what an extra 15k+ will buy you
I hate how common those cars are now. I am glad you got a kill off of that. I wouldn't mind seeing what their SRT version can do side by side with a BMW V8 though.

I think those cars have a 130 mph limiter, so it might have not been his choice to stop at 130.

I should be 155 mph.
I've only had mine up to 120 so far....looking forward to pushing the limit. (safely on a track, of course)

I was a previous owner of a Chry 300. It was a very nice American car. It also is a very very heavy car at over 5000 lbs. For as heavy as it is, it handles very well. Needless to say I the sure footedness of any 5-series will blow the doors off any 300.
The reliability of the 300 also comes into question. It is horrible. There are more bugs in the 300 than a roach motel.
Also when the 300 look is dated next year the 5 will still look fresh and classy.
