E60 520D Cabin heater blowing cool air all the time
Hi looking for any advice / help.
I am having a run of back luck on our Msport since the minute it turned 70,000 miles... its a 56 plate Msport
I've noticed the cabin heater is not blowing hot air, even with the heater control knob turned all the way to high. I've tried with the air con on and off. I've checked fuses in the boot.No error messages.
Ive been told changing both stats will resolve so today Ive changed the main and EGR Thermostats and went for a long drive over 40 miles however I knew within five there was still no heat, though the car engine did get upto temp as it did before.
Regardless of if I put the air con on or not where I put the temp knob ( I think it goes 16*-27*) I get cold air, so am thinking its electrical... when I do turn on the air con I do get colder air.
Can anyone offer any advice as to way the cabin is not getting or hot, or any other things to check.
Thanks Mark

Have you actually hookup the car and read the codes? If the sensors are bad you won't get an error on the I-drive. First try to get the codes read, DIS or INPA. Try changing the Temperature sensor, it is behind the idrive and goes up into the center vent. Its a cheap part so won't cost too much to test. I would also check the IHKA module, if you have NCS expert code it back to default. A bigger problem could also be the heater core.
Highlighted in the pic is the temperature sensor, do a half turn and pull down.
