My Ride: e60 2007

Hello,
I am new to this forum, and I have a very specific case I need to explain, thats why I am posting this.
I have e60 2007, with pre-lci halogans.
I have used xenon headlights for 2008, with angel eyes, OEM ones, I need to install them on my car.
physically they fit alright, but the cable cannot fit the new one.
With a little search I did on the internet, I think I need some retrofit kit ?, what is that? and will it solve my case?
the dealer in my country (israel) gave me an offer for upgrading to xenon lights for 5200$ + taxes, which is about 30% of the price of the car, and the price I can pay for upgrading my whole car with a 2009 one![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
Would appreciate the help.
thank.s

LCI retrofit kit consist of bunch of socket pins & plug for the headlight and adapter & long wires you have to run from under the dash to the trunk for the tail light.
There are a lot more to just simply swap the headlight, as you already know the plug is different so need to cut off the pre-LCI end and re-crimp new socket pin and fit into new plug the pin changes and wired differently all over the place and proper conversion will require the taillight also.
After that you have to upgrade the LCM (the computer module that control the car lighting) if your car doesn't have LCM2 (2nd generation basically) and also need re-wiring upgrade as some pins require swapping at the LCM2 plug.
Then you have to re-program the car since the car was born w/ Halogen DNA w/o re-coding the iDrive check will confuse as it expects Halogen and not finding it and will give various warning and/or error ... for example the Halogen uses 55w while Xenon use only 35w, the AE/Halo ring Halogen uses 2x5w bulbs in each headlight while Xenon LCI uses a single 35w and then the hi-beam is all different since LCI doesn't use the inner/smaller reflector for hi-beam anymore.
I've done pre-LCI Halogen -> LCI Bi-Xenon conversion that you about to attempt almost 4 years a go and was a messy conversion, here's my thread -> https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...dlights-77535/.

Here's my suggestion. Sell those LCI xenons and get a set of LCI halogens instead.
The reason why is because for you to use all of LCI xenons function (assuming AHL, self leveling) you will need more than just LM2. You will also need to install rear sensors routing to the back of the car (which I last remember to cost somewhere around $400, labor would probably be at least $200-400) otherwise you're not going to get the most out of those xenon headlights.
That being said, if you were to just upgrade to LCI halogen, all you need is to make a conversion cable, no coding, no LM2, or LCI tails is mandatory for the upgrade.
The LCI halogen projector is pretty good, and its performance isn't that far off from the xenon projectors if you put a good kit in there.
