I have decided to start a new thread, because old ones are dated back in 2009.

So I got this msg (Dynamic Drive Malfunction)already two times in two days period, it goes away after restart a car. But the first time it was like a two month ago, when first a real cold day in N.VA (around 30F in evening). That time I went to dealer for different thing and asked them to check a system. But they didn't find anything wrong with it. So I read it could be alternator, dynamic valve control unit, and dynamic solenoid.

Battery is new, I didn't check alternator, but dealer did back a month ago.

So what else could be? Is anyone having positive fix that fixed a problem? Maybe it's a cold thing or BMW can't fix just because it's a problem.

I noticed if you disconnect the IBS, the problems go away. I did it last winter and never had a warning light pop up until I reconnected it.

i personally think these electrical systems are very temperature sensitive. My car usually throws weird errors when its either too cold or too hot.

Second that, passenger side seat mat starts to act up on hotter summer days.

As far as the dynamic drive malfunction, has happened once about month after a new battery, on an average day temperature wise. Only thing I can think of is I was accelerating moderately hard out of a parking lot while turning left, was leaving work for the day

How to disconnect an IBS. I will give a try to see result.

Access the battery and you'll see a single small gauge wire going to the negative side battery cable. The connector is either black or blue. Just disconnect it and see. It doesn't set a check engine light, but does set a fault in the DME.

I have update for you

Apparently it was slow, very slow leak in ARS unit (sway bar), at least what dealer said, so it was replaced with new. I'm lucky, but shocked it covered under my current warranty. It's almost 2000 part.

So if I knew this is going to be a problem, I would never buy this car. Really, I stuck with loan, but I will never buy again such complicated BMW. I like BMW and I will buy again, but something without sport suspension.

Hope that was it I don't have sport suspension and I get that error when it is cold a restart always clears it, I think since these cars take a lot of info from wheel speed sensors and calculate it some how the sensors don't like the cold weather and just don't give off the correct voltage at start up when cold thus the error and thus a restart will fix my opinion

I've had this message come up twice after the dealership's power steering flush and transmission work. Only happened on cold mornings. I'll probably take my car in sometime next week and post my findings.
