dvd option for e60

i see that when (with the logic 7) looking at all the cd drives it is listed like this: dvd, cd, cd1, cd2, ect... i wonder what the part number is for the dvd player and how much it cost to get it sent from europe to the us

The answer is a bit complex...

If you are talking about the in-dash DVD player, this is not an option and can't be added. Cars with the in-dash DVD player are based on the CCC computer (more powerful, allows Navigation...) and cars w/o are based on the M-ASK computer. You can't upgrade *unless* your car was built with the "Navigation" pre-wiring (I think option 6UA).

BMW also offers another DVD solution, the trunk mounted DVD changer. This changer requires your car to have a MOST cable in the trunk (you need either Premium Audio or a telephone wiring/pre wiring to secure this cabling.

If you are in Europe and have the MOST cabling in your trunk, you can ask your dealer to add the DVD Changer, but you'll also need the Video Module in order to be able to see DVDs on your CID. This upgrade will cost you around 3000 Euros plus some labor.
