What year is your car? CCC or CIC? Assuming it's a CIC since you mention in motion which is available in the CCC unless you add aftermarket equipment.

also might help stating where you are located, so members can point you to someone that is local to you to help you with that coding, if your e60 is appropriate to get dvd in motion...

I'm in Pasadena too, will be at bimmerfest as well.

If someone is willing to do this at Bimmerfest at a cost better than EAS in Anaheim($50), then count me in.

I can't imagine being charged 50.00 for this, it will take less than two minutes. Hopefully if you pay that much you will be receiving a lot more coding changes etc... Hopefully, there will be someone from the forum there and won't charge this much since 99% of us received all the knowledge from discussions right here on these sites. When I added nav to my car I needed the coding done and didn't have a clue. After receiving a quote from someone on this forum to remote into my car for a small fee of $500.00 I decide I would have to figure this out myself, and did so with the help of a lot of other forum members. It's not hard at all. The hardest parts is getting the crazy software installed correctly and working properly.

you'd be surprised what some "coders" charge..especially established shops...I've seen some charge as much as $50 per code/feature..ridiculous

if someone is only charging $50 to activate the dvd in motion, that is actually a really good price compared to what people usually charge for coding (up to $150!)...want something else done..another $50 bucks. yikes!

i remember when i was a young jedi i had my aux coded, and i asked about the legal disclaimer...another 50$ i was like, ehh its alright..i dont mind pressing the accept for 50 bucks

now that ive been coding, LEGL_DISCLAIMER is only a few lines above the auxin!! lol kidding me.

+1 Gene and Roskinc, I've had so much GOOD advice from members here and also physical help as well, never a charge. Ok, I could see a shop charging someone this price to code a few options because they have overhead etc. But I just have a hard time with someone in our "family" doing this at their house after work if you know what I mean...? OP if you were near SC I would do this for you and or show you how to do it for no cost.

luckily my brother codes and has coded a few local members...nothing compared to what "professional" coders charge..I mean..there's an actual forum dedicated to coding that shares how to code and for free.....just need to buy your won cable and have at it...
