My car is a 2010 535i xdrive and had only 20K miles on it. I bout it used.. When I turned on the lights I see a lot of dust/dirt in both the headlights and Foglights. Do you think the dealer can fix this?? any experiences?? I have had Audis for the last 12 years and never had this issue even in my 10 year old Audi.. why would a 2 year old BMW have dust int he lights?? seems abnormal.. this is my first BMW.
Thanks for all the help

Post pics so we can see how bad it is. If it's under CPO, with a bit of complaining, they should change it out without charge.

It is still under the 4 year 50K miles warranty.. Not sure if the pics will show the details..

My headlights are the traces of dust in the housing lens. I also found on this forum that this is a common experience to have condensation inside the headlamps.

Are you sure it's dust?

I've seen headlights where it looks like it may be dust inside.. but it's actually lots of tiny little chips and bumps on the outside.

I doubt there is dust inside as these are sealed lights. And it being a 2010 it is highly unlikely that it's faded either. I mean perhaps someone took the bulbs out and left them out and the car was in dusty/dirty conditions. Only then could I understand how anything could enter the headlight.

OP - just take it to the dealer if you're not happy.

Looks like Ripcar was right it is stone chips on the outside which look like dust particles when the lights are turned on... I wonder why this car has badly chipped headlights when my 117K Audi was better after even 10 years... any suggestions on how to fix this?? Polish the headlights??
