My '07 550i (build 10/06) also have the Dunlop SP 01 tires. I guess I'm going to read the reviews on TireRack.com now.

Today, at 30 degrees.....my TPM was alarming....I'd just had my CD changer installed by my dealer and my tire pressure was "checked"....
yup....my pressure was below 30 psi....
Funny, I had the same problem. This morning, it was 44 degrees and I got a TPM warning on the left passenger tire. Got out and checked and it was 24psi. I checked 2 days ago, and both rear tires were 34psi.

How was it possible to lose 10psi in 2 days in one tire? No visible signs of nail or puncture.

Its nuts but I have the same exact problem when the weather changes like 10 degrees suddenly...the pressure just drastically falls. I was at the same psi for the rear tires 32-34psi. I mean the weather has an affect on the pressure drop of the tires but maybe because the dunlops are summer tires this affects the pressures in the winter.....would be interesting if anyone could shed some light on this matter

I don't know if there's something unique to the Dunlop runflats but in terms of physics, a tire/wheel that has a small leak will leak more when it's colder because things will contract and/or get harder. My theory is that since the Dunlops aren't really designed for use in colder temperatures, small rim leaks might appear due to the tire contracting, the rubber getting hard, etc.

I just picked up my new 550I (I'll post pictures over the weekend) and I see they have Dunlop Sport SP 01 tires. I thought I read that BMW was not putting these tires on the cars because of problems and they were using Bridgestones. I also believe I saw some threads that said that the Dunlops were replaced under warranty. I'll be calling my dealer but wanted to get some input from anyone with the Dunlop run flats.

Thanks in advance for the help.
I have the Dunlop RFT's on my 550 - 3 weeks old. I have serviced the tires with nitrogen when I first got the car 12-9, 34/38 psi. I have checked the pressure
several time and have not noticed any change yet. I did the same thing to my 530 with Goodyear Supercars and found the pressure to stay very stable. Our
temps here in Dallas have been mild for the past month so I am curious to see what goes on in the cold weather.
Also just a quick comment about BMW opinions about tires. When I traded my 530 ('05 - 8536 miles on car / 2450 on tires) BMW said they could not pre-certify the car with Goodyear Tires on it no matter how good the tires are, strange?
Will post about ongoing pressures.

Just switched over to snows from my Dunlop RF's and goodbye and good ridence. I now have a smooth, luxurious ride with no road noise and best of all NO TRAMLINING. I did get about 28,000 miles or so on them but will trash them and go to PS2's come spring. Ride is now better than when my 545ia sport was new. Never thought I could like snow tires (they are Dunlop also, but non-runflats) better than summer tires. Go figure.
