Sorry but why would you want to put a quad "dummy" tips on? I think Remus makes a quad and it's not that loud.

make sure your tips are black then. Powdercoat or spray high temp BBQ paint on the tips. Or else, u will see one side is dirtier than the other.

It'd look funny when the outside temp is low, because only one side has exhaust steam/smoke coming out.

I always thought 545 and 550 are practically identical with the exhaust set up...check out the vendor forum for Remus exhaust.

I'd go with Remus quad over dummy tips. Remus sound is similar to stock. Would look weird with smoke coming out of one side like Xman said.

geez, sadly no one really answered the OP's initial question......

i had a set of dummy tips put on the right side after i put on an M5 bumper because i was still deciding on what exhaust i ultimately wanted to put on....

didn't really matter to me that it didn't "smoke" when the temp was cold, as most people don't even notice and surprisingly enough, some cars only smoke when warming up on one side too.....jusy a fyi, look at your 550i exhaust, only one side of the 2 exhaust tips will smoke when the temp is cold.....

find some tips online or at a muffler shop. take it into a muffler shop if you decide to the former. they'll probably add a hanger to hang the tips from and voila, a non functional quad set up. very simply and shouldn't cost much, tips at 20-40 with install of maybe 30-50 bucks. good luck man.
