Here's the situation: I live in Southern California and there are several times a day that I must inch out in front of parked HUGE SUV's just to see if there is any oncoming traffic. Many times, by the time I have inched out too far, someone appears on the horizon at a very fast pace. No problem, I can speed off in time - except that the DTC kicks in and almost gets me killed. I've done the PRESS DSC ONCE option, but I still receive some interveening from the traction control. Is the only option to completely disable both the DSC and DTC in order to pull out of my driveway safely? I would still like to have the safety of the DSC to keep the car tracking straight but would prefer to completly disable the DTC in order to drive away faster. Also, this usually involves a turning maneuver and some uneven pavement right before I punch it. Any suggestions???

Wow... that bad? well punching it and spinning your tires isn't the fastest way to get off the line anyways... what you want is just a slight a chirp of the tires, just before the tires lose traction... practice how to launch the car out of your driveway rather than just mashing the pedal.

I understand that full blown light up the rear tires is deffinately counterproductive. I just have not been able to determine which DSC mode will allow minimal wheelspin AND vehicle control. With DSC fully functual, the hesitation is too great. Same thing occurs when turning left at an unprotected green light in front of oncoming traffic (especially if the pavement is slightly uneven). The car always seems to hesitate beyond what I am comfortable with. It seems that my previous 540 gave me much more leeway (and confidence). I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel the DSC is much too cautious and inhibits any kind of spirited maneuvering. I thought that by pressing the DSC button once would allow just enough freedom to get through these scenarios but I still find that option too limiting. On the other hand, I find it iresponsible to disengage the entire system while I am in close proximity to other vehicles. Any possibility that the Dunlop thumpflaps have inferior traction over conventional tires????? And yes, they are inflated correctly.

I would completely take off DSC and ease into the pedal to get out.
