Recently we have been getting a lot of rain in the northeast (US). When driving in the rain, I'll typically change my setting to DTC --- but I'm not clear on exactly what this setting buys me over the other two.

Which do you use in the rain and why? Would you use the same setting in the snow?

Thanks,
Jordan

What's rain? In the few times that it has rained here in AZ, I keep everything enabled. However, when I want to have some fun in either dry or wet, I turn it all off and slide away. Haven't found much use for DTC only, though. For me, it's all or nothing.

In the rain I would certainly let full DSC on. Last year with my previous car (E46) I took an exit on a german highway quite too fast under a heavy rain : just one second to think "Oh ..... , I'm too fast" and the car seriously began to oversteer. But just one more second and the DSC corrects the trajectory Sometimes I like to play with the DSC but this time is was for real !

One would need the most traction available when it rains, so why would one disable DSC or DTC when it happens?? The only time when I disable DSC will be when I want to have some fun skidding in the dry, screeching starts or when I get stuck in snow and cannot move

You should always leave DSC on in rain (the default). (Unless, of course, you're looking to spin the tires.)

DTC is a special mode for especially adverse conditions (like an unplowed road covered with snow).

With all the rain we have been getting here in Florida lately I just leave it all on. Better safe than sorry.. but there always is that one time where you just have to let go!
