You are absolutely right about DSC staying active on the E60. I sometimes like to slide my car around, (wet roundabouts and wet parking lots have that effect on me) but I am positive that at some drift angles, combined with revs and accelerator position DSC intervenes. At some speeds it is almost impossible to get the car into a tidy slide although it IS possible to lose control all together.

PS: for all you safety conscious treehuggers out there ( ), I only have this kind of fun when I am alone in the car and when there is absolutely no one around.

How could that be dumb?

I'm running with the 19.2 and the car works just perfect.

If I didn't get you wrong you also have a stock car.
Happy burning up your tires and experimenting. Yes, my car is stock. Well, it is dumb to trust software updates ever. My general rule is to never do one if everything is good unless it promises something significant that I care about. I should have realized that it wasn't worth the risk just to get MP3 capability--which I now have. I could have just waited until I had to do an update for some reason. I would have if I had realized how bad MP3's sound on a decent sound system. MP3's have never been even a low priority for me so I didn't realize how bad they would sound in my car.

With both off I don't feel any effect as far as restricting wheel spin. They will engine will hit the rev limiter with the tires smoking. But with it on, it cuts in all the time. Once I was pulling out from a stop and suddenly had to step on it - the car "bogged" and I had to let off the gas to get it going - very scary!

Not much experience with yaw control restriction - I don't have the skill or road conditions to be "drifting".
