My Ride: E60 "Stripper" Now C6 "Stripper"
Talking

On Sunday i had a run in with a CTS, no it wasn't a CTS-v.

Needless to say i had about 3 car-lengths on him until the next stoplight.

I was in DS mode but i find that DS mode is a beast on the highway/expressway but not so much stopped at a redlight.

I feel that if i had it in D mode i might have gotten a better jump off the line. Yes my DSC was inactive.

What do you folks think?

DS faster. It starts in first. I almost never drive in plain-old auto.

Sorry for the OT but with gas prices going up every week here in the Philippines, would it be more economical to drive in DS or just plain D? Just got the car a few weeks back so I can't really say or rely on the on board computer gas consumption.

DS will use more fuel because the system will give the engine more gas thus better power, it will start from the 1st gear for better acceleration off the line and keep the engine revs up by delaying up shift. If I drive in DS for some time the fuel gauge will go down faster comparing with D, but the fuel consumption does not increase by much. The computer are there for reference I think.

It depends... D can start from 1st if you're 'agressive enough'. DS definitely starts from 1st and can go into 6th with enough speed!

I don't believe that. Mine goes into 6th at about 115 / 120 mph.
