The last half-mile to my house was pretty bad. Could feel the car start to drift sideways in turns even going slow. I was amazed at how quickly and smoothly the DSC kicked in and made the car go forward. It was almost like a giant hand was guiding the car.

My last car was a 4WD SUV and it would have taken all of my skills I learned at the ADAC driving course to keep it straight.

Now I'm gonna sign up for the ADAC course again just to get some runs on the wet pad w/skid generator to really experience DSC

I am going to a Bridgestone Winter Driving School in Steamboat Springs in a few weeks. I agree that it pays to have some expert guidance and develop skill in this.

Where in Germany are you?

Incidentally, my first 3er did not fare very well after encountering black ice (even with 4 winter tires and relatively slow speed, the roof, and the pavement on the A1 near Amstetten, became somewhat acquainted).

Any car that BMW markets and sells in the U.S. can be bought here (U.S. spec) under certain circumstances.

What make you so special? I figured all the specs were based on US emissions etc...I figure Germany has to be better at this.

What tires do you have man?

I recently hit a small patch of black ice in my 535i with Dunlop RFT's and the car skid violently. Fortunately the ice patch was only a couple of meters long.
