Alright.Looks like i need to try another dealership. I'm disappointed today since the reason i trade in my VW touareg is because of my expectation to BMW's customer service. But i just realize the BMW C.S. still can't compete with M.Benz. I miss the MB C. service of Fletcher Jones in Newport, CA. Thats the right customer service.
I'm pretty sure i won't go back to peter pan anymore.

You should try Lexus service... they're even better than MB... slightly but better. Too bad their cars are boring to drive.

I consider any forward lights at all a safety feature. Run with them all the time. [exception high beams]

The sooner I can see one coming at me the safer I feel. The sooner he can see me, the safer I feel.

Beverly Hills BMW since day one gives me exceptional service every time. I'm truly amazed. FYI, establish/maintain a good relationship with your Service Advisor and..... It's Christmas, what did you do for your SA?

I can't. I dont find it in my i-drive.
My 08 550i does have the DRL on/off option in the iDrive.

General question ... can the i-drive be updated/upgraded from year to year?

That's a great question. I hear that there may be an iPod update...either available now or coming (as well as other updates). Should we be able to get those and will that be a freebie?

Thanks

Yes. if you want to pay for it, dealers will not update it for no good reason. Sure you can take the advice of several people here and make stuff up and say you have a problem and get the dealer to upgrade it... With every S/W upgrade you run a risk. If theres nothing wrong I would suggest you dont. Dealers screw up software upgrades... or rather... software upgrades tend to break more than they fix.

PLUS. Each car can only be updated 13 times in its lifetime before you need to replace the module.
