Trust us, if the car thought it would cause harm or damage it won't let you do it. You can't over-rev or under-rev a steptronic-equipped car. You'll see as you come to a stop or slow that even in manual mode the car will switch down a gear or so, and if you were driving at speed and tried to change down to a gear that would cause the car to rev beyond the limiter, it will ignore the request. I used to drive my 545 and 550 in manual mode all the time, much like you do, and I never had any issues.

I have been wondering about damage too. Does it harm the transmission if you shift too much or shift very agressively in DS? I'm afraid I'm gonna break something, I've never driven a stickshift so this is my only experience with shifting.
