When I purchased my 545, the drivers cup holder would stick and I had to almost pull it out to get it going. Once it started to move, it would swing out without any problems. Now I have a replacement for it and would like to get it replaced. Has anyone done a DIY on replacing these? It seems to be a fairly common issue.

I need mine replaced and do not want to go pay the dealer so any DIY would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is not under warranty... Shouldn't be a big job, but want to see if anyone else has done it already.

Doesn't look too difficult. At the red arrows remove sticker, item #10, to reveal torx screw, item #7.

Thanks, Now I see how to read the diagram. Guess it was a stupid question.

Does anyone know what causes these things to start sticking? Mine does it too. Would taking it out and giving it a bath help?

Those cup holders are the pits !!

I always bang my knee under the holder spilling soda contents over switches (when in passenger seat), or reach out and miss the can / bottle with same result.

These holders should be down low where any spillage causes less damage.

In my E91 a minor soda spill glued up my temp control switch solid, meaning a new unit = unacceptable design flaw.
