A dream came true... Upgraded to M5
Hi, guys -
Just traded in my trusty 2007 530i Sport for a 2007 M5 ("Interlagos Blue") with about the same mileage (65K)... -- Yay!!
Actually, I didn't have any plans to buy "A Beast of my own" initially - but I guess my emotions took control when one of the $tealer$hips' "Sales Weasels" showed me the M5 they just got in from another client. When I came to my senses again, I found myself driving off with the car of my dreams, LOL. FWIW, I was just actually just driving by the $tealer$hip to look for a 550i, or something with more power than the 255HP in my 530i, and with a better stereo system than I used to have before (=basic BMW car stereo option... yawn).
Well, now I have a V10, 500HP, Logic7... and a huge monthly payment. But, hey.. you only live twice (as James Bond knows best), right?! :-)
No idea if I want to (can) hold on to the car for long, but it's definitely "a dream come true" - and finally with a great stereo system. Since I'm already an old fart (will turn 41 in a few days..) and make a good dime at work, my biggest issue actually is the low (but not unexpected) gas mileage. Then again, for a car weighing 2 tons, with a V10 and 500HP, 18 mpg/Hwy ain't all that bad. It's just the 12 mpg/City that bug me. No wonder with all the stop & go traffic here in the Chicago burbs, though. Insurance actually is just $30 more than for my 530i (now $130/mo.)
BTW, I got the car, like my first one, from the BMW Dealership in Schererville, IN, and it wouldn't surprise me if the previous owner is on this Forum, too? - If so, I'd very much like to hear from you, bro!
Cheers,
Armin
