DPF Removal
#11
you could so what I done mate when I had a dpf failure.
remove it from the car and remove the internals of the dpf and just leave the housing in place, then get the car mapped to notify it the dpf is gone, I havent had a problem since.

Thought about this but believe this is bypassing the problem, which could lead to a more serious problem due to the lack of back pressure limiting the spool up on the turbo's. I'd rather find out why this is happening. Cheers anyway.

Just an update!
Since cleaning the DPF out the consumption has risen from 37mpg to 45mpg. This leads me to believe the DPF itself isn't the issue! Does anybody know the DPF sequence, what's it looking for after 10 mins of starting, i thought it might be exhaust temp but it doesn't matter if the cars started when hot as come the 10 mins of starting 'particle filter failure' warning pops up!

Update.....
Driving home last night when i noticed the turbo wasn't spooling up (lack of power). Stopped the car, switched back on and the turbo was then working fine! Any one else suffered this and could it be related to the DPF failure warning i keep getting?

Sod it, going to get the car booked in for DPF removal and reprogrammed! Been quoted £280+vat which after doing some comparisons doesn't seem bad!

Just off the topic here gents but i've been experiencing a knocking noise coming from the front end ns wheel. This weekend i checked for any play by holding the wheel at 12 o'clock and rocking it and sure enough there was movement. All the wheel bolts where checked and were tight. Jacked the car up and atempted to rock the wheel again but this time nothing. Dropped the car and tried again, nothing. Checked again tonight and the movement is back again. Any idea what could be causing this, i'm presuming it's something that is put under stress when the car is jack'd up!
Cheers
