Other morning i got up and saw my back bumper chewed up. Its actually worse than how it appears in the pictures because the surface of the bumper isnt flat anymore. The following morning i made sure put a car cover on it however i woke up seeing the cover off and ripped into pieces. My puppy is around 9 months (pitbull). Do you think the entire bumper has to be sprayed or they will be able to do just the piece that flares off?

I can't answer that question, but you could tape it off and paint a black strip across the bottom. That is, if you are looking for a DIY alternative.

Most likely paint the entire right half of the bumper and blend in the middle, since the top area is damaged, or they could just spray the entire bumper. Either way, it should be the same cost. If it were me, I would paint the entire bumper. They are painted with differenet paint in a different location than when the body is painted at the factory anyway. The body is waterborne paint and the bumpers during this time were solvent based. If you go to a good shop, they should have no problems making this look the way it's supposed to look!

I would think just the piece that flares could be painted...on a related note...that would be the end of that dog!

Hmmm stop waxing your car with that chicken flavored stuff :fcuk:

Seriously, a good shop will fill in the gouges and shoot the whole bumper for a good match. Probably looking at $250 or so at a reputable shop. From time to time my BMW Certified shop runs a bumper special $129 to fix minor imperfections and repaint - you know, like parking lot stuff. Wouldn't hurt to ask your dealer.

Can't help with the painting issue although if it were me I might consider MSUconrad's suggestion.

As to your dog, get it some cow hooves to chew. They are available at most pet supply stores. Chewing on something is pretty normal for young dogs, the cow hooves give them something to chew besides your car and they are just about pure protein. Stay away from the rawhide chews. My vet warned me that some dogs will swallow large chunks of the rawhide which will then swell up in their digestive tract causing serious problems.
