I guess the OP should've state at first that his iPod adapter is for pre-LCI, sorry so no LCI 6FL trick solution

My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.
Curious, if you happen to have an iPhone or a iTouch. If you do, perhaps you can see if it will also charge. I read somewhere there is something up with the amount of power that comes through the USB connection and some did not put out enough until a changed was made. I guessing mine in the armrest was not enough.

I have a 1st Gen iPod touch that now lives in the glovebox and charges. I also have an iPhone 4 that charges, if I take the cable out of the touch and plug it into the iPhone, just fine too. This is on an 04 with the retrofit iPod interface kit.

I have 04 too with the retrofit ipod interface but i dont kno why its not charging. do u need i need some coding
