maybe im doing something wrong, but when i search for something, the navigation system RARELY finds what im looking for. If i enter an address, it works great. Something as simple as searching for a Target yields NOTHING.

I have a Garmin and it works like a champ.

Does anyone else have a similar frustration? If im searching in the correct manner, i think bmw's nav system is junk.

My 550's nav system (2009 model -- old iDrive guts with DVD) -- is no match for either my Garmin Nuvi 350 or my Motorola Droid.

Agree. I don't even bother trying to use it for locating actual places by name. Plus, the organization of the categories isn't very good at all. I end up using my iPhone.

BMW is light years behind most other Nav systems, and I'm not sure why it is so! It does work, but it is so laborious to use!

True. My 2006 Infiniti M45's nav was light years ahead of my E60's nav. Of course, I don't buy my cars based on who has the best nav.

Hands down, this nav SUCKS....only time i use it is when i have the address. It NEVER finds anything when I tyoe the name in. Not sure how they decided on their categories but usually very difficult to fond anything. Example...I still dont know how to find an auto parts store using their nav system

I agree BMW nav really sucks. I love the Acura Navi system and the touch screen, lot faster.
