Do you use your "running daylights"?

still looks like toyota. i dont even turn my DRL at all. I REFUSED TO PUT TOYOTA BADGE ON MY E60...

from far distance they will think that " oh new toyota is running by" and as soon as you pass them and see our grills they will say "wait was that a bmw?"
I doubt ppl would be least bothered to keep guessing car brands by looking at DRLs lol

No. I had them turned off. The halogens look weak. However, the dealer told me you can get some custom wiring job so it will work like the 08 AE DRL. (not at the dealer though)

Yes I have done it on all my cars, ever since I did alot of travelling in Sweden 10 or more years ago. Its got to improve safety.

nope, not at all

I don't know about bmw, but audi in the usa lets you turn them off to save fuel due to the alternator not having a constant draw on it.

I'm willing to bet the same thing on the bmws, also as stated it saves from having to replace expensive bulbs all the time.

They have been alot of complaints filed with the DOT here by motorists that do not like the DTRL, and alot of complaints about HIDs too, being TOO bright for older people at night and basically blinding them...lol

The exact same thing happened back in the '80s when halogen lights started coming out. It's just people who are afraid of change and/or technological advancement.

That is the exact reason I'm really cautious about leaving mine on, I mean its logic right, the more you use it the more life is used up. Although as some previous cali drivers stated, a bright fly by does look crazy. I guess I'll just turn on my headlights when I spot another e60.

I've done this on a variety of cars for over 10 years. Mercedes, Volvo, Saab and now BMW. I used to drive 30,000 miles a year, so the lights were on alot. I think in that period I might have had to replace a total of five bulbs. I haven't replaced the BMW ones yet, but on the other models replacement bulbs were no more than $30. Not a great expense versus the improved safety.

When I took delivery of my car, the DRLs were turned off. So I recently had them turned on, but now I'm disappointed that they are not the AE DRLs. Still better to be safer, so they stay on!
