Good to know. I'm in the same boat as Martin in that I haven't taken my car in since installing the SB a couple of weeks ago. I thought more people removed them--maybe it would show up on diagnostics. Mine is hidden under the carpet, so if visibility is the only issue, then I guess I won't bother with removal.

both my father and I have SBs on our E60s and we never took the SBs off before taking it for service.

And if your asking even more, I have Pre-LCI and my father has an LCI and we have never been asked and told anything.

wow sounds like you guys in US are very lucky that the dealer dose not void the warranty.
In HK if you do any mod to the car they will void the warranty if you dont know any of the guys at BMWHK
