It has been a while since I have posted on this forum. I feel very bad for all the forum members that are having problems with their e60. I have had my '06 550i for almost 3 years now, and the odometer is nearing 50,000. I recently had the bug to get a newer e60 550i only if I could find a perfect one in Deep Sea Blue with comfort seats and the M package. However, every day this week as I drove into work I reminded myself of how much I love this car. I even had a little fun keeping up with a Corvette at 110 mph.

After all the modifications I have made to this car, it doesn't make sense to risk getting one that may have problems like other forum members are experiencing just to get a color I would like. The only thing that drives me crazy about this car is the grey headliner with my Auburn interior. How I wish I could find a black replacement.

Is there anyone else out there that still loves their e60 550i?

I do! Absolutely love it more and more every day. Sad thing is, in these economic times, I may have to sell it - payments on two automobiles isn't work for us so much anymore. Damn, wish I could win the lottery!

I know choosing to let your e60 go is a hard choice but if you choose to sell it let me know!!! I am looking for another one now.

Ohhh baby. Mine only has 38K miles on her and she still purrs like she's new. The 6 Speed Manual just makes her even more fun! Loved the look on that Porsche drivers face this morning when I was side by side with him.

I still love driving mine but I wish I had more time to have fun with it. (It only has 19K miles) I have to admit that I have the bug for a 996TT Porsche and I plan on making the switch in the next year or so.

If 550 or 545 had gender they would be boys. I had a girl not long time ago and she was e46.

Don't we all...

I hope you do don't have to go the selling route.

I still love mines to pieces, although I find myself constantly looking at e46 M3s.
I'm missing that third pedal once again. Hmmmm, I forsee a second toy soon.

I feel the same way as you guys...My inlaws just got a new 550i xdrive and although its nice! Its just not the same driving experience as the E60 550i. I only have 34k on the clock and enjoy driving it when ever possible! I dont see the need to get a newer model or trade in. Maybe an 08 or 09 M5 has been in my thoughts...but thats it!!! Changing the wheels again this spring just to keep it fresh and different

08, 550i, 6sp MT, M-sport, Deep sea Blue, Beige interior...

Couldn't be more perfect for me.

47+K miles on the odo--20K are mine over the past 16 months. No major problems so far (I did have 1 scare but software module updates seem to have done the trick). I don't push the high speeds too much, but I love getting up to speed quickly--love that torque and primal sound that I didn't seem to get from the 535i test drive.

I have not been bitten by the mod bug yet--only black grill, ModMyNav back-up camera, and K&N filter (charcaol delete) so far, but my list is getting longer (RPI exhaust, maybe Dinan CAI, I've looked at wheels, black vinyl roof, window tints...).

I expect to keep this car a long time--next car M3 vs. 9114S
