Hahaha....

I got my first BMW (2004 mysticblau 520i) a month ago, so I get many comments from friends who see it for the first time.
Every one has been very positive so far.

The best comment I got was from the wife of one of my great friends.
She's gorgeous (more than that...) and has very black hair.
She asked me "Wow, that's a really beautiful car. Looks like a great trap for Blondes"
I replied "not sure, didnt have a chance yet"
So she said with a great smile : "I guess I'll have to get my hair dyed tomorrow..." and her husband started looking at me with very strange eyes !!!

Well, every Audi A6 (and most A4's) I encounter on the motorway seems to suddenly develop a dogged determination to not be passed by me when I show up in their rearview mirrors. That's a compliment, no?
...that's the truth hurting them ...they know deep down they should have gone for a BMW

I had a situation yesterday where the compliments could have back-fired -- we had a potential customer visiting and saw their eyes buldging when they saw my (company) car in the carpark... we were all leaving at the same time, so I had to head towards a group of more standard looking cars (Fords & VWs) and pretend mine was parked amongst them, I then phoned someone whilst standing near the cars and waited until the potential customer had driven out of the car park and didn't see which car I actually was going to get in to!!

It still was nice seeing them admire the car, but a shame that I had to pretend it wasn't mine... C'est la vie!

when i took out my 1990 miata with the top down the other day it got more looks than my 18 month old 5 in black ever has.
also i havnt yet encountered someone with 'small dick syndrome' that feels compelled to overtake my E60. Perhaps its the 520d badge that puts them off?

Pretty funny. I've had to do this exact same thing a few times. Quite amusing pretending the car isnt yours.

'Your car could probably smoke my car.'
'I couldn't catch you so I couldn't determine how fast you were going'

Local law enforcement officer giving me a warning on the way home from dinner last night. I think he liked the car.

oh yea and:
"Are you a drug dealer?"

to which I reply:

"Yes, yes I am.."

or

"Of course I am, only drug dealers can buy BMW's."
