Do I need a software update?

My Ride: '05 525iA, silvergray, steptronic, Active steering, PDC, sport seats, beige dakotaleather, poppel trim, M-sport steering wheel, star spoke 123, xenon lights, large clima, cruise control.
I have a 525i taken out 17 december 2004, do I have any need to upgrade software? I`m going to left the car at the dealer for new door seals next week and I wonder if there is any idea to talk about upgrading the software?.

Get the upgrade if you are experiencing errors with your car (such as: i-drive, radio on/off problems, etc. etc.) or just get the upgrade for the heck of it...the new prespective view navi is pretty cool (but useless).
Tell them that the I-drive keeps freezing up and that should do the job. Most likely they will upgrade your software since you are going in for new door seals.

Depends really on whether you are having any problems. Like the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I went for over a year before I got my first upgrade and that was due to a recall related to emissions. Was having no problems and would not have wanted an update.

Update at your own risk if theres nothing wrong with your car now... check out the transmission slam posts... people are experiencing this AFTER a update...
