The push start option is part of the Comfort Package.
Comfort access: key is in your pocket and you can open the door, start the car, plus lock it.
Comfort/convenience package: tilt wheel/heated seats/ stuff like that.
Keyless entry: your pushing the button on the remote to open the car but having to insert it into the ignition to start the car.

Oh... So does that mean the 2006 530i's without the fob key will have the 255hp as well as the adaptive headlights as published in the brochure?
I have the fob

I have the correct answer for you because I looked up all this before I purchased my own slightly used 2006 530i with 19K miles!
The push button start, along with the black topped Idrive knob came out in September 2005. Mine was made in August 2005 and JUST missed the changeover. However, the Aug 2005 build date is considered the 2006 model. If you have any doubts simply run the VIN number and it will display which model year this car is.
If memory serves, and I may be wrong about this part, the 2006 model began production in July 2005. They just kept making them with the regular keys until they ran out of them ...
