Disable Door Chime?

Hello, This is my first post here. I just purchased a 2005 525i, titanium silver with black interior. I'm currently sitting in the car playing around with the I-drive but I am annoyed by the door chime. Is there a way to disable it while sitting in a car. I like to play my music while washing my car and I would hate to have to listem to the door chime the entire time. Is there a way to leave the radio on when you take the key out?

Just press in the volume control knob on the dash without the key inserted.

I had no problem this morn playing SIRIUS with the door open. I think I just turned the key to position 2. And, you could always just open a window.

Well it's either the window or the door...

More seriously, if you use key postition two, it won't chime but be sure to turn off the climate control and press the button near the overhead map lights to kill the interior lights -- you'll significantly decrease your chances of killing the battery. Just remember that you have to kill the lights again if you open or close a door...

My radio/CD plays without the ignition key in.
Just press in the volume control knob on the dash without the key inserted.

I can when I'm drying the car or cleaning the wheels. I can also listen with the doors closed but the sound will be muffled.
Thanks for the replies. I tried using the radio without the key in the ignition and it worked fine. I'll post pics soon.
