Default DISA Failure...545/N62. Some advice!!!

As the title states I have a failed DISA according to INPA. Car seems to run just fine. Only reason I found the code because I plugged the car up to read faults because I had an overheat message. But that I found out was because I forgot to plug in the engine cooling fan after replacing my motor mounts. I am not to familiar on what exactly this part does I have done a few searches. My question for you guys is do I need to replace this part immediately and will it do any damage to my engine? Also where is it located on the N62 motor (545/550). I have seen many post on other models but not specifically for a 545 or 550I. I hope this is something serious or doesnt require alot of work.... As always all help is definitely appreciated.

DISA failure can be minor or serious. If the plastic flap comes off or breaks off a piece it can get sucked into the manifold and cylinder.

The intake manifold actuator is located at the back of the manifold assembly. It basically opens up at a certain RPM/engine loads to change the length of the intake runners. If this part fails, it could cause engine damage or could be a minor problem, so I definitely recommend getting it checked.

We do carry the part if you need to have it replaced, here is a link:
