I've been doing a little research on the BMW Individual Audio System on this forum and on the internet. Reading the threads about BMW Individual Audio System, I know that there are members of the forum that love the it and there are members that despise it. I came across a couple of websites that may be of interest.

One is for DIRAC Research. DIRAC replaced Logic7 as the sound processing software for BMW.

http://www.dirac.se/

This one is for Lautsprecher- Produktions- Gesellschaft or LPG. They produce the speakers for the BMW Individual Audio System. They also produce speakers for JL Audio and ETON (2 renown car audio component brands), VW, Opel, and home/professional audio equipment company Revox~

http://www.lpgmbh.com/en/index.html

I've also attached a couple of pdfs with reviews of the BMW Individual Audio System in the M5 by a couple of German car magazines (translated into English of course).

I haven't heard the system, so I can't make judgment on it. I just thought all of you might find it interesting.

Does anyone know who makes the digital amplifier that is used in the BMW Individual Audio System? I'm searching for the manufacturer, but haven't had any luck.

I always thought, it is Harman Cardon which is a brand of Becker Automotive Systems - all German Companys - but do not know exactly

The company that makes the amplifier for the Individual Audio system, is the Lear Corporation. They worked in conjunction with Dirac, to create the Dirac 'Live' DSP technology.

Anyone knows whether these DIRAC amplifiers have some possibility for digital audio in?

I have the BMW factory installed Individual audio DIRAC system and just wondering whether it's possible to connect some audio device via digital audio input directly to the amplifier/DAC.
