I've never had a problem with the electronic oil level sensor and have found it to be quite accurate. I check my oil level much more often with the e-gauge while I sit in traffic and prefer it.

My MY2007 build date 5/5/2006 525i does not have the oil stick.
So ummm are we saying some cars had a true oil stick, and some cars only had idrive oil level viewer or both?
With all the silliness in this thread, it was hard to tell.
