My Ride: 2005 530i Individual, DVD Package, HUD, Bluetooth, Comfort Seats, SR, etc
I just started the car and got this msg, then checked the fron Left HID light is not working, everything else is running just fine. Is it the bulb? or is the the Control unit? there are two units one in each side of the light?? Someone suggest!

Took Delivery 10/26/2009: LOADED! E60 M5 Silverstone II/Black, Active Seats, Comfort Ventilated/Heated Seats, HUD, Brushed Aluminum Trim,
If it says low beam malfunction on the iDrive with an amber light in the instrument cluster, then most likey its just a blown bulb. Not to much damage to the pocket book if you know where to get the replacment bulbs. I suggest if you need the D2S lowbeam bulbs, Holla at member Nerweezy or r1racer. GL!

thanks ...i think its a blown light control module.

because it does not say LOW BEAM MALFUNCTION and also first the light was no lit then i turned off and turned on again it was fine, then all of a sudden with sudden DING it gave the msg and the light went out on the left

Ok opened up the car, swapped the Controller (aka Ballast) and yes its out, now the ballast it self has no part number. I went to realoem.com and saw there is two types of control unit for 1/2005 production E60 , the first unit is for Xenon Bulb with Ignition Element and the other is Xenon Bulb D2S I have absolutely no clue now which control unit to order can anyone suggest?

after much looking i found my HID os D1S with Ignition Element; So I need the controller for the D1S; is EU and USA D1s Controller the same? Anyone > Anyone? Beuler???
