I always thought BMW owners had a bit more smarts than your average Joe. The OP contradicts that. Or, maybe it's just BMW owners on forums. Oooops, that would include me.

btw, to the OP: I assume you meant "dilemma."

Why be an a$$hole? Seriously? If you don't find the question interesting.... then do not reply.

Dont be a prick. I just wanted input on if the new 5 is worth it. I dont owe anything on my car so I just wanted the imput of those that have gone from the 530 to the 535 or the 550. Any new car is not smart financially period. I understand how money works. I just wanted to justify my pointless obsessions with cars. So really if you dont have anything constructive to say dont say shit!

I say go out and snag a 550i. Sell your rims on here and buy a set of snows for the winter. You've already done the I6...and it's time for a bump up to something that actually has a true sport suspension. I won't ever get another xi.

Is there a huge difference in the exhaust between the v8 and i6 I want to keep my RD sport quads and put the factory v8 one on the 530 since I dont have the orignal one anymore.

I am no exhaust person, so others will have to chime in on this question.

It seriously sounds like you are not ready to make a decision. I would take a step back... digest everything and figure out exactly which way you would like to go. The last thing you want to do is get yet another car that you will not be happy with.

I've been doing some searching on the internet for exhaust on the 528i I have on order, and I've noticed that exhaust systems for companies like Eisenmann, Meisterschaft, Remus tend to be more expensive for the V8s over the I6s. I would say somewhere between 30% to 80% and some even a 100% more for V8 exhaust depending on who you buy from.

I am going to drive the 550 535 and an M3 tonight to see if I really want to make the change. I am happy with my 530 dont get me wrong so if I dont change I will not be heart broken. I think I just am craving more power. Plus there are a few options that I would like to have this time around like comfort seats. Plus I really dont need the awd I dont use it now. Thanks to those that have had constructive comments.
