I really need some rear tires and want to get the Hankook Ventus V12 and wanted to know if this was going to cause any issues with the front that are running OEM Conti tires? I tried searching first, but came up empty.

Different brands should not cause any major issue.

Front and back is ok, sides are bad to run different brands, the difference in tread will cause different results when driving high speed in wet condition. Dry roads you'll probably wont notice unless you track.

I agree, keep them the same on each axle but fronts can be different to the rears, It`s the rears that are the most important on these cars anyway.

The electronics will compensate for any differences in traction differences between tire brands and handling characteristics front to back. That might only be noticeable in aggressive driving in low traction situations (wet roads, etc). My preference and recommendation is to run same brand and "model" tire on all 4 wheels - but that's just me.

I've been in your situation though - when two tires wore out faster and the company had discontinued the matching treads! Wasn't any biggie except when hard cornering on wet roads ... first time was a "surprise" ... learned to pay attention from that point on though!!

For a while I ran the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo rears with the OEM Contis on the fronts on my 550 and had no issue at all and did twisties with that set up. No problems. I certainly wouldn't mix max summer performance tires with winter snows. But the Ventus and Continue max summer performance tires have sufficiently similar performance/grip that you'll never notice that they are not the same tires.

That is so odd...I have the same car and same setup. Replace the two rears with hankook v12, mounted and balanced with gsp9700 twice and still having vibration around 70 mph. The place where I got the hankook from said the tires are fine and balanced are true the vibration is due to mismatched tires. If you guys are not having problem then I need to go to a new tire shop!!!! Or those tires could be defected.
