I am about to go and get an 2008 5 Series 330d and I have a choice of two. The pictures i have seen show the interiors. I don't have a full list of specs I am afraid so I cant work it out for myself.

One of them has a blank plate above the ashtray and below the cd player and the other has a gap for boxed cd's or the like. Is there a sat nav thingymabob or something else hidden where I would normally put the cd's?

Any help is most appreciated - what is the difference please?

- I have attached two images showing what I mean.

Many thanks,

Shaun

To me, it looks like neither car has a nav.

Get the top one. Life will be much easier if you ever want to retrofit navi.

From a quick glance I would go with the Silver interior. But this is also just based on the interior. I mainly like it because it has the Sport package. I personally can't tell if it has a nav or not on either of them.

BTW did you mean the 530d?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes I meant a 530d. I used to have a 330d - Force of habit sorry!

Forgive my ignorance (this is probably a silly question) but is there any way to tell from looking at it if it has Nav? I am considering the auctions too and I am unsure of how much of a play around I can have. I never had the Nav kit before so I dont know any of the giveaway signs other than specsheets and playing with the idrive and seeing it. (From experience, some Auctions can leave out details on Specs.)

Finally, just out of interest, what advantage does the sport kit give you? I am aware of the pretty differences on the m-sport, wheels, seats and the ride etc. but does it make any difference to the idrive / auto gearbox?

Thanks - it is very much appreciated. Its my first dip into the 5's (and automatic gearboxes) and I need illuminating!

Shaun.

The silver is LCI sport with Navi and the brown one is LCI non Navi. Sport can have different suspension and sit lower, different tire setup/size. I don't think there is anything different on the power side.

Hello,

If the car has nav, the iDrive screen will be the wider rectangle screen, not the small square one. Also, on earlier E60's there are 2 disc slots -one for music cd's and one for the navigation disc.

Hope this helps.
