Have you noticed it?

This is quite interesting, because just in our minimeet in Helsinki on Friday we noticed that the brand new
E60's for Finnish customers don't have those flaps anymore. When it is -25 celsius in winter, the air intake
is indeed open and freezing. Maybe something has changed so that they have left those flaps away nowadays ... ?
Any comments from Norway, Sweden, have you noticed that ?

This seems like an endlessly discussed topic, and has been subject to several reposts.
The flaps behind this intake are usually present on BMWs sold in countries with less warm climates.

I think it's a part of the cold weather package

I have bought mine as well 2,5 years ago in Germany. The flaps are there and my car definitely doesn't
have any cold weather extras. (although I tried to get it). I wonder if the hole thing freezes in nordic conditions without them. Remains to be seen.
