Diesel Aux heater & remote control

My Ride: E61 535d sport, Silver Grey/grey/maple.
20" Hartge Nova 7. Previously 19" staggered 172s
Does anyone know if the E60/61 diesels have the aux heater in UK spec like the E39?
In the UK the remote control was not available for the E39, but a kit found it's way here and is a popular add-on with enthusiasts.
Can our friends from colder climates tell me if they have the option of a remote control for the E60 aux heater - in other words, does the possibility exist?

BMW Germany offers an aux heater with remote control. Not only on Diesels, on all E60's.
It is an option you have to order from the factory.

The E60 is not preparred for the remote control and AUX heater as the E39, E38 and E53 (diesel) was. The E39 had a webasto heater installed from factory, so the car would reach normal temprature faster with a diesel heater, and with a kit, it was possible to "unlock" the heater and use it as a AUX heater to... The E60 has a electic heater installed, which helps the car to reach temprature faster....
If you want a webasto fuel (diesel og gas) heater, your dealer can install it..

That's correct.
You can get it aftermarket or have to order it from the factory.
When you order it from facory it's actually Webasto and comes with remote control.

They don't offer the heater as a factory option in the UK, so it's either standard (looks like not) or we can't have it. Is the electric heater effective?

Just to let you know I've asked the question at a few dealers and am told you can only get it on Diesel models in the UK. Unfortunatley, you can't get it with in petrol model. (Which is what I wanted)
