Use your scan tool to clear all codes and check it again in a few days. I'lll bet it is gone. I found this via Google:

P0597 - Thermostat Heater Control (THTRC) Circuit Failure The Comprehensive component monitor (CCM) monitors the THTRC circuit to the PCM for high and low voltage. If during testing; voltage was to fall below a calibrated limit for a calibrated amount of time the test will fail and set the DTC and MIL. Open or shorted THTRC circuit - Open VPWR - Open or shorted thermostat assembly - Damaged PCM

If it shows up again, you should take it to your dealer. It might be covered under your emissions control warranty.

Did you find out what the issue was with the P0597 obd code? My X3 check engine light just came on and I get the same code.
