On Euro Deliveries people claim to get xxx amount over invoice (1k, 1,200 to 1,500 ,1,650). How many of you fellow 5er owners had to add the 695 bucks for destination to the dealer profit on the final Euro Delivery deal?

I for one paid 1,100 over ED invoice plus destination hence 1,795 over invoice.

Thanks for your input!

I have never heard of anyone not paying shipping. $695 to ship a car from Germany to the US seems quite reasonable. I paid around $800 to have my SUV shipped from Texas, US to California, US. I still can't figuire out why it is cheaper to send a vehicle across the world then 1/2 the way through the US.

i don't think the $695 is to ship a car from germany to the states. every one in the states has to pay for the destination charge. even the cars made in the states and people live in that particular state still have to pay for it . but i've heard that is negotiable . i think that destination charge is more a document/admin fee or simply part of the car price but is mandatory . please correct me if i'm wrong.

I paid 200 to be delivered here in Germany and then I have to pay 800 to be shipped to the states when I leave.

$695 destination charge is on top of whatever you want the dealer to make.

The dealer has to pay that too. So, if you agreed on XXX above ED invoice, then $695 will be added above that.

While dealers will come off MSRP to sell above published invoice pricing, they will not delete the destination charge (at least in the US); neither will auto brokers or online car purchasing services. While $695 may seem high to you, it is $720 for Mercedes Benz. If you are successful in getting any dealer to eat the destination charge in the US, please post to this board -- to be clear, we are talking about selling to you at a discount off MSRP (or a fee above invoice) with no destination charge being assessed on the final sales contract.

There's no profit for the dealer in a destination charge. They pay the exact same amount you do. There is no negotiating of the destination charge.
And the reason it's $695 instead of $3k or so? VOLUME.

Not that i think it is too high in price but i would rather use that amount to get the rear sunshades, lighted doorsills, or cold weather package, etc. Well i remember this one guy who claimed he got his 04 E60 for 500 over invoice plus the destination charge!

At 500 over invoice how much is the SA or CA SM or GSM actually making?
