The service manager just called and said that they reprogrammed the car yesterday with latest software (not 25) and says according to his info, it will fix CD. I know this is not true otherwise it would have been all over this board. Please help-am I losing my mind or is Progman 25 the holy grail for the long suffering CD changer issue?

In a sense its a good thing. It will continue to be "the excuse" for people to get free progman upgrades.

I gave you this same answer in another thread:

Your poor dealer is just a little behind. The SIB (December 2006) for v24 DOES state it fixes the CD run on. That statement, however, is in error. In later SIBs (Jan and March 07) BMW states that will not be fixed until PROGMAN 25.xx. That SIB is titled CD/CDC Track Counter Advances after Mute Selected and is #65 32 05.

In a sense, I hope not.

This has been a great way to get free Progman updates over the years.

Further response from dealer echoes what you said. When I booked the appointment I was told that the software necessary to correct the problem was available, except nobody bothered to check that it was actually Progman 25 until I questioned it. By this time, the car was already in for service, and of course the the reprogram they did did not correct the fault. Now waiting with everyone else for 25. Thanks for reminding me CD. Appreciate all your knowledge.

According to someone on another forum, Progman 25 is now in the UK!

I will be getting mine booked in soon to correct the audio problems.

Hi,

I'm not sure what Program version will be updated in my E60 within the next week or two getting ready so the Pro Nav retrofit path can be performed on the upgraded Pro Nav parts.

Even if it is Progman v25.00, will this correct the CD spinning?

I've installed the Pro Nav parts and it's working 95%, a couple minor issues will hopefully be resolved when the Pro Nav retrofit path is performed.

I haven't put back the dashboard facia and CCC facia cover, but noticed that the metal front of the CCC is really hot sometimes even after the E60 has been turned off for a couple hours and I can hear something spinning, not sure if it's a CD or the CCC fan at the back, I suspect it's the fan trying to cool down the CCC.

Cheerz

daMANiak, Others on the board have indicated the version prior to V25 did not fix the CD continuation problem. Also, if you look at other threads on this board, you will see that there are some signifcant NAV improvements/features in V25. So, I'd wait for it.
