My Ride: On Order as of May 6- 2007 530i Titanium Grey and Grey Leather, with Sport Package, Premium Pkg, Cold Pkg.
2006 Porsche Boxster
Working in IT I have been helping customer apply a number of Daylight savings patches for this coming weekend. I have a 07 530 that was built in May of last year. I am sure my software does not have the update.
How will it affect my car?

Correct. As advanced as this car is, it does not automatically adjust for daylight savings time. Because there is no auto adjust, there is no software patch or anything to correct, unlike a desktop PC which has the old April/October switch programed in...
You gotta wonder how long it's gonna be before the boys in Munich work timezone functionality into the iDrive package ...

I still don't understand why BMW doesn't do this (at least with nav cars...)

The smarter approach to this issue is to do what many other car manufacturers do -- get the time from the GPS satellites.
