All I did was join BMW CCA years ago. You automatically are assigned to the local chapter when you do. They have a lot of track events, club meetings, club drives, and socials.

Sorry, was not logged in. Does anyone know if you assume a lease from another state and register the car in texas do you have to pay sales tax?

Thanks

I checked into this, and the answer I got from the local tax office was NO, just a $95 (or something like that) re-registration fee.

In TX, it's a good way to save $$$ on car lease, since you'd otherwise have to pay the full 6.25% up front. Tough to find the perfect lease assumption deal, though.

Thanks for the information. you are right, it is very difficult to find the car you want.i was shopping on swapalease for over a month and found one in CA 2004 545I SMG, but before i could get my application in someone had already taken it. i could have saved the $3600 in taxes. i am sure with the 550 coming out soon there will be many 545i leases for assumption. i did not have that much patience so i bought a new 545i last week.

I have seen quite a few E60 owners from Dallas on this board. Just wondering how many there actually are.?

I am in Fairview, Texas. Bought the car at Classic in Richardson. Love it more everytime I get to drive it. (Wife's Car).

I like it so much, I am thinking about getting my own in the fall/winter, once the 550's are available.

Regards, Michael.

I would be interested in a get together to see other cars and other options/colors/mods/upgrades, etc.

I'm in Plano.

How many of you have had your Dunlop replaced for free and your creaking door sealed fixed?

Thanks

So, no one in this area had their Dunlops or Door Seals replaced?
