yeah, I scraped my bumper only 4 days after ED pick-up when we were in Paris, and man was I sick about it. I had to have the entire bumper removed and repainted in order to put it back. aaarrrghh!!!!!
I feel much happier now that it is fixed

ouch.. i CONFESS I did the same after I install my Hartges... wasn't paying attention to AS and the rear passenfer tire hit the curb in a turn..big lip scratch... thatnk GOD when I took it for service a few weeks later the dealer did another one to the same rim so they end up fixing everything for FREE ..so far no more scratches

Has anyone with the 18" Dunlop run flats or any other run flats curbed the stock BMW wheels yet? I have hit curbs that would have done a number on the deep dish wheels of my 540-6 that didn't even buff the tire of the 124 wheel. I think a lot of the curb rash is happening to the wheel mods for 19-20" wheels.

Oh well, I figure now I won't worry so much when I let others drive the car! I also figure I'll do it again a few times so I'm not hurrying to get anything fixed just yet.

I guess I am just darned lucky, so far. But, then I haven't been crowded by another car as you were. I have actually been cruising along at around 50 mph and gotten a bit close to the curb and had it move me back on line -- all with no curb rash.
As a side note, one thing that I am amazed at is the precision of knowing where the curb is, on both sides. In long curves to the left, I keep getting closer and closer to the inside because I can sense exactly where the curb is.
