I think 5% of the roads in Hong Kong are enjoyable, and 95% arn't.....

By any chance come Hong Kong for vacation, don't drive, just get a Taxi, I think New York and Hong Kong are the only two places Taxis are more conveninence than driving.

Same here, but just a little scratch.
It was AS what killed me...

Has anyone with the 18" Dunlop run flats or any other run flats curbed the stock BMW wheels yet? I have hit curbs that would have done a number on the deep dish wheels of my 540-6 that didn't even buff the tire of the 124 wheel. I think a lot of the curb rash is happening to the wheel mods for 19-20" wheels.

Yep, I did.
It happened on day 2 and was caused by a driver who forgot about AS... (me)...
The front left tire (18" Dunlop RFT) moved up on the curb and when bouncing off the curb the curb left a mark on the 124 rim.
Shame on me... I was in a terrible mood for about two weeks...

I can imagine the mood. The same thing should have happened to me a couple of times. Lucky, I guess. Thought I was bullet proof. Guess not.

Hey guys, the best advice I can give you is buy a rim with a replaceable steel lip. I think wheel manufacturers should take this into consideration if they intend to provide a better product for their customers. Also try to get a tyre with a rim protector/ flange.

O.Z. wheels have a couple of models (usually the higher range 2 or 3 piece wheels) that have a replaceable steel lip which you can change in case they get scratched. Also, you can modify the lip for a deep dish look. Tyre wise, the Goodyear Eagle F1DSG3's provide reasonable protection and performance is nothing short of fantastic.

Hope that helps.

Yes, you are right, My Superleggera III have the replacable lip. However, I don't think anywhere locally have the machine to detach the lip and the main part of the rim, plus, it's going to be as expensive as buying a new one.

Therefore, the original purpose of 2pcs/ 3pcs rims are totally defeated these days. People buy modular rims are just for its "looks" today.
