Hi

Was wondering if there are any LCI owners with cup holders who can tell if the cup holders got at face lift? I am so tired of the poorly designed cup-holders in my 2003 E60 and was wondering if BMW had finally hired a real engineer to design the cup holder, and maybe updated the LCI models?

Anyways - probably wishful thinking, but if somebody know something, please share.

Thanks,
Thomas.

Probably not. I think cup holders are just an after thought for the German mind. They keep saying that a BMW is for driving and not for drinking coffee.

Sounds like you are not in the US, the first e60 year was 2004.
The LCI (2008+) do have different cupholders but they are essentially the same.

pennetta is correct -- they are different in the LCI but not different enough to be considered a new design, etc. They're only marginally better than the pre-LCI version...

mebbe the design but it seems like the LCI ones crack very easily. Maybe they cheaped out on material?

Thanks for all the replies - does not seem like there is any reason for upgrading. Is there someone who has pictures of the new cup holder?

I think I read in a thread a while back that somebody had a fix or a mod that supposedly improved the current cup holder. Does anybody has some information on that?

Thanks,
Thomas.
