Question crankshaft sensor

Morning beamer fam i stopped by at oreilys to check my check engine light and it said crankshaft position sensor. I'm wondering if yall can help me out on where and how to replace it? I got the new part in my hands but I can't seem to find any DIY diagrams or diagrams on where I can find it on the engine. I would really appreciate all the true info u guys can give me thanks a lot.

Are you talking about part #13627639278?


If so, it's #8 (for auto transmission)

Yes sir but I got a manual transmission tho ok I just clicked the link for the manual transmission is it really simple to do or do I gotta drop the tranny down abit to do it or is it just a bolt on.... can you provide me the step by step instructions please... oh and what does this mean I saw it when I clickec the link on #6 Crankshaft speed sensor106/200613627639278only in conjunction with--Electrical tape, blue4,6X200206/200661137711799--Adapter for crankshaft sensor

Typically, crankshaft sensor is mounted on the bell housing [with one small bolt] and can be replaced without having to remove transmission. The only difficult part is the lack of space around there. I don't have V8, so I don't know how much space is there.

Thanx a lot RTR really appreciate it was pretty easy just had to remove all the plastic guard and the metal guard...... but now that I took it to O'Reilly to the the engine light now it gave me the camshaft sensor and I looked it up on that link you gave me thanks again for that but I can't seem to be able to pull up the diagram where its located can you provide that for me please??? Really appreciate all the help yall are giving me you have no idea

Need to remove valve cover to replace eccentric shaft sensor. It's quite a task on the V8 due to the lack of space.
