Mine cracked right at the rain sensor, and was replaced NQA, I guess this has happened quite a bit something to do with a thiner glass profile to reduce weight,

 

May i ask?

Did they do a good job? Was there an odor from the new adhesive of the new windshield?

Did they leave a piece of tape where the windshield meets the roof? (I've seen this on non BMW's)

To the naked eye can you tell the windshield was replaced?

Did the service dept. advise you if the new windshield is stronger or better?

Just got my car back on Saturday and then went to Garden State Plaza Mall.

Alot of head turners in there!

The windshield was replaced for free, it took two days but was worth it! I also got I-drive version 13.3 installed as per the recall! No funny smells or excess windshield adhesive.

530ii i just got upgrade 13.3 (for some kind of recall) and my windshiled replaced under warranty too. The dealler was replacing the front 2 pillars because the clothing had lifted up a bit and cracked my winshield. He could not explained as the mechanic was just popping the pillars back in place. anyway new windshield (you could not even tell the y changed it) besides is now missing my tint strip .... the only thing i noticed from this version is the RDS and for some reason i'm getting a bit better MPG. As for the transmission I'm pissed. They reprogram the transmission and now DS does not shift to 6th speed; sgoes up to 5 speed. The D mode is fine as I never used it before but now I have to to conserve gas. What a pain it is to be moving the steptronic left and right all the time ..trying to see if i can talk to the shop foreman next week because i need my car for this weekend

 

I though DS never shifted into 6th gear, I'll have to experiment on the way home.
